Vacuum Metalizing

Vacuum metallizing is the process of evaporating aluminum or some other metal inside a vacuum chamber forming a metallic cloud that bonds to the plastic to create a uniform metalized layer that shines like chrome.

gas assist molding While the nature of vacuum metalizing does not make it a good candidate for most automotive applications, it is used for badges, interior trim products, and many lamp house applications. The highly reflective coatings provide a cost effective way to add decoration to chrome plated grilles and other trim.
